Debbie Gibson strongly established herself as a pop singer in the late 1980s. Over time, other artists began to dominate the world of music, however Gibson never lost her love of music. Gibson was born August 31 1970 in Long Island, New York City. Her birthplace and zodiac signs are both Italian and Sicilian German, along with a hint of Russian. Her parents were Diane Gibson and Joseph Gibson. She also has three sisters. When she was a child she took piano lessons under Morton Estrin. The beginning of her career came in 1983 when she composed the song I Come from America and then sent a video of the song to WOR for consideration as part of the station's contest. Following her win, her mother converted her garage to a recording studio. D.J. submitted a radio station a demo of Only in My Dreams.
