Taylor Alison Swift (born 13 December 1989) is an American singer/songwriter. Swift's discography spans many genres as well as her songwriting that is which is often in the form of her personal life experiences, has garnered a lot of media attention and critical praise. Swift was born in West Reading (PA) and relocated to Nashville when she was a teenager in order to pursue the dream of becoming a country singer. In 2004 Swift signed a songwriting arrangement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She also signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records. Reputation, a hip-hop-flavored album with the number-one hit "Look at What You Made Me Do", was the result of media attention. Swift left Big Machine in 2018, and signed with Republic Records. In 2019, Swift released Lover (2019), followed closely by Miss Americana (2020), a documentary about her life. In her 2020 albums Folklore, Swift ventured into indie and alternative rock. Her songs "Cardigan", "Willow" as well as "Willow," topped the Hot 100. Swift began rerecording six of her original albums after a dispute over their masters.
