Amber Benson bio

Amber Benson (born April 14 in 1970) is an American actor, performer, writer and director. Her most recognizable character is Tara Maclay, in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Additionally, she's directed, produced and appeared in her own movies Chance & Lovers Liars & Lunatics. She also starred in the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was born on January 8, 1977. She was born in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Benson has a younger sister Danielle and is an artist. The father of Benson was Jewish as was her mother was a Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. She grew up going to an Reform congregation in Alabama. Benson, who has been involved in numerous TV and movie shows after Buffy ended, has also appeared in The Killing Jar. Additionally, she worked as a writer on her own show, the Ghosts of Albion Series and was the director of Drones in 2010. Buffy estimates that at least 1800 Slayers exist in the universe and that 500 are part of the Scooby Gang. Slayers are now able to be revived once they attain an appropriate level of age. Soledad, for example was awakened when she turned sixteen. Ruth Connell has been cast as Rowena for Season 10 Supernatural. It is believed that Rowena is a witch from the past.
